Ambergris Lump

Ambergris, not to be confused with hamburgers, is a waxy greyish substance created inside the intestines of sperm whales. Formed from a fatty secretion, it’s expelled either orally or anally before drifting ashore on beaches worldwide. Thanks to its use in perfume making, a single lump of this fat shitty whale barf can fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars. Because it comes from sperm whales, an endangered species, the ambergris trade is banned in many countries under whaling protection laws. The only ways around this are to buy it on the black market or obtain ambergris naturally, by finding it on a beach or sticking your fingers down a whale’s throat.
