Fascinator Hat

The Fascinator Hat was invented in the 17th Century, and originally consisted of a lacey scarf wrapped around a woman's head with the aim of drawing attention and invoking an air of mystery. These days, the term Fascinator is used to describe any overly elaborate hat worn at a stupid angle to a wedding or a racecourse, with the only mystery being "Why the hell are you wearing that?"
